In 1939, Germany invaded Poland, and World War II (WWII) began. Almost all the nations of the world were involved. The United States avoided taking sides during the early years of World War II. Then on December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked the American naval fleet at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The United States entered World War II, and its leadership and military resources helped bring the war to an end. In this lesson you will learn about the role that Texans played in the war.
